Welcome to La Dancrerie

Our home computer crashed last week, leaving all our digital photographs marooned somewhere in its depths, and I couldn't tell potential house-swap families what our lovely farmhouse in France has to offer. In particular, since this was a New York family, I was keen that they not think this a modern, high-spec. home, but wanted to emphasise the charm and practicality of our home-from-home. Well, where better to store the odd pictures and information than a dedicated blog?

So here we are. The computer has been partially resurrected by my wandering husband (geographically, that is, not emotionally!) so I am going to dig down and find some sample photos and memories to give a flavour of our adventures with the dear old Dancrerie, whom we now consider like an aged aunt: a treasure to be visited with pleasure, comfortable and famimliar and still holding a special warmth whatever the world outside is doing.
